Ok I have a china made 120w dimmable led fixture. It stopped working recently and I need to fix it to start another tank. The led's all still work but i dont know what drivers or w/e to buy to fix it.

It is 55 3w bridgelux led's all the blues on one channel and the white, blue, red, purple on another. there are 2 knobs for dimmers. Anyone with experience with led's please help me fix this.

It should have a 2 year warranty and they should fix it.

Ok its not a reefbreeders light its a ali express one. Everything on the lights are identical except mine has 3 fans on the back of it.
It has 55 3 watt led's on 2 different channels. The only part of the light that is still good is the aluminum plate and the led's. Both drivers, one dimmer, the power distribution box,and the 3 fans are all toast. Pics incoming.
The power distribution box fried and sent massive house current through it all. Thats the only thing i can figure happened. Who knows maybe the underwear gnomes sabotaged it.

I need one of them dimmer switches, 2 of the white drivers, and the little black box. Anyone know where I can get them? Also note the place I got this light from is horrible. Was supposed to have a 3 year warranty. Can't even get them to answer a email.

I woukd use 2 12vdc 130w power supplies myself. But you'd have to remote wire them.

You're asking to get 85% of the hardware inside the case replaced. It's just not worth fixing. Maybe keep the leds, toss the rest and buy a better brand. I'd like to know what brand it is. I know it's not an EverGrow (at least it doesn't look like any of my EverGrow fixtures). Some/many of the Chinese manufacturers play so fast and loose with quality and warranty, we all need to be careful. So knowing what brand you had would be helpful to a lot of future decision makers.

I'm pretty sure you'll have to contact the manufacturer for replacement parts, there's just not any aftermarket drivers available with the 70 to 100 VDC output that the LEDs require or at least I've not seen them, and if you are lucky enough to find it, it's gonna be more expensive than the light was...your best bet would be to contact the manufacturer for replacements, maybe try to contact EverGrow directly and skip the dealer you purchased from

here's a link to EverGrows contact info http://evergrowlighting.com/contact.asp?pageid=29

that is an awesome power supply but the lights would have to be completely rewired to use it, the EverGrow D120 lights are wired in series with 27 LEDs on 1 channel and 28 LEDs on the other channel requiring the 70 to 100 vdc output power supply to feed the needed voltage....

you would have to somehow cut the trace on the circuit board of the lights and rewire so that there were only 4 LEDs per string to use a 12v supply and then you'd need the constant current drivers to supply the constant 350ma needed for the LEDs...

the DIY light I was working on, I used a 48vdc output power supply like the one you posted and have 16 LEDs per string with the Meanwell LDD 700ma drivers on it and it works great, the D120 lights could possibly be rewired and go that route too, but it's gonna be expensive doing so

you might give Rick a shout at Reef Radiance or the guys at Reef Breeders and see if they can get what you need, that might be your least expensive route if one of them can get parts for you

Rick from reef radiance doesn't have spare parts. Logan from reefbreeders has the parts :D Once the light is fixed I am selling it and washing my hands of that company.

The rewiring of your leds woukd just be adding all the positives to one lead side and all the negatives to one lead. Instead of jumping point of sale to neg. Lil bit of time, but imo well worth the cost to use to use that power supply.

awesome, at least you'll be able to fix it, chances are you'll not have any more problems with it once you get it fixed, and now you know you can get parts to fix it with :)

I don't blame you for dumping that company, customer service is just as important (if not more so) than the products they sell :)
