Hey all... im not gonna make a lo g spout about it... but the 1st picture here shows my 2 strips flanking my hydras. The one closest to me in the pic is a fluval marine 3.0 smartapp. Love it. 5 colors channels, ramping feature and bluetooth programming. Ap is simple.

Now, the rear one, is the oG 25k 50-something watt Fluval Marine. 2 channel slide bar manual. In the first pic, it on the 50% blue. The other option is the full daytime spectrum (it washes the entire tank out in white when its on)

The smartapp 3.0 is always on with the hydras. Running its program. The rear i have set to the blue setting, (the white is waayyy too much) it is on a timer and runs 6 hrs at peak. Not much help in that mode i imagine.

My question is, can i, and if so, how easy would it be to simply remove half the white LED diodes on the strip to cut down the white but still have some punch in the par readings?

Ive never tried led mods before. Whats ur thoughts?

Sounds like a lot of work.. lol, I had a similar light years ago with way too much white, I just pulled the lens and ran a strip of black tape on the inside of it to partially block some of the whites ;)
