I got out of reefing awhile back and looking to get into it. Had LED first and had bad luck and went with T5 which drove my electric bill up. So since LED has came a long way, what is everyone running? Im some what on a budget since everything i buy will have to be new.....any input would be great.....Also yes there will be a mix of SPS/LPS in the tank.

We have the ocean revive artic t247 budget friendly and been a good light. Also check sb reef lights. Been some really good reviews and happy reefers with them.

The sb reef lights are a light based on same design but has better spectrum and you can ask the owner questions here as he's a sponsor. I believe their similar in price range.

SB reef lights needs to come down on the price.. Just sayin.

Mars Aqua are good. I prefer the WiFi version made by either Evergrow or Populargrow. The reason I prefer them, is because of the light intensity. You can go lower on light intensity vs the Mars Aqua mechanical dimmer switch. The price difference is $40 between analog dimmer and wifi programmable.

I have not owned a Mars or a Radion
On this tank it was 20 k my 14 k mh and razor.
This lower left was a stick. Literally a stick.
35 days under an SBreeflight same lux intensity. And yes it has pink tips now.

Ill have to give them a look... havent purchased my tank yet, just trying to get things in order. I learned a lot of what NOT to do on my first tank build lol

I've run a couple different brands of LED's....from the early "Chinese" boxes to Apollo's, Mars Aqua, and an Eshine. The early Chinese fixtures lacked quality....almost non-existent aluminum heat sink. However, the newer models (last five years) have been very impressive. The Mars Aqua I have blew me away....thick aluminum heat sinks, and quality built. The only thing I did with mine was to remove the lenses. With a relatively shallow tank, the lenses are too much. They simply pull off. I love my Mars Aqua, and continue to use it with my tank....and have growth that I can't believe. My only comment is that I have seen a shift in color of some corals....but that's not overly important for me.

Here's what I currently have over my tank.....originally just two Apollos for a total of about four years....and added the Mars Aqua ( in the middle) about a year or so ago.....Oh, and FYI, it's a five foot custom 90 DT.

I run Ocean Revive T247s and really like them. However, if I were in the market right now, I'd go with those new Reefbreeders. They look super slick.

Hydra 26 HD's The power you do not use in one spectrum can be diverted to another. The nice thing with these light is that setting can be shared and uploaded or download and saved. The control is great with there app little bit of a pain setting up for the first time, but a good customer service walked my through.
