A while back I saw some led tubes that fit in a T5 fixture. I cant remember where I saw them but I think it was on Advanced Aquarist. Anyways, does anybody know if these ever came out? Has anyone tried them? Who sells them? Thanks

I know what you're talking about. I saw them as well. However, since the LED fixtures have come down in price and are now quite affordable, I think they (the tubes) have fallen off the radar a bit. I never tried them personally, nor did I ever see a pic of anyone using them. I think they were good in principle. But the Reefbrite strips pretty much put the smackdown on them I think.

I thought these were kinda a good idea. It would be nice to throw a led strip in the center of an all T5 fixture.

orphek was supposed to come out with t5 ant t8 led tubes but they changed the design to make them into fixtures like the reefbrite instead of just the bulb .. kinda disappointed i love my t5s and would love to add a bulb or two of leds

I saw a t5 led tube fixture on a hydroponics website and it looked like a fantastic idea. The one drawback- at least with that particular fixture- was that the t5s and led tubes were not interchangeable. My guess is that an internl ballast ran one set of endcaps and a driver was wired to the other.

I have been searching around and trying to find these for about 1yr now.
I saw them on alibaba, but the search ended there, I couldn't find any other info beyond there.
I did see them on icecap fixtures but that's about it.

My tank is lit with the led tubes. I really like the fixture, it has 8 slots and you can customize the look and color temp by adding different color tubes. My fixture is a sunbrite lighting fixture with 4 tubes.

Pic's of when I first put this fixture over my tank.

Wow that looks cool I too would have bought a led tube but like everyone else lookin stikeout

The sunbrite fixture is interesting. From the website it appears that they are operating on a t10 fixture. I think the op was looking for something that could be retrofit into an existing t5 fixture.

Yeah that fixture looks nice but your correct I was looking to add some LEDs to my T5 fixture.
