My tank is a 15g nano with stock light (blue marine 11W / zetlight ZN1702).

My corals are doing alright with this light but my Zoa’s are growing towards the light.

What is the best / cheapest way to upgrade? I was thinking about adding a led bar in front of the stock one.

Here is the PAR measurement:

11 watts is not a lot. Not nearly enough. When I had my 1 Gallon up and running I had a 54 watt light bulb on it, which, was a bit overkill.

I recently did an experiment with a low-watt light, and it was just enough to keep some palys happy on the surface. Mushrooms died off, a finger leather survived, a tyree toadstool closed up for 5 months before it started to extend polyps (and even then, it was minimal extension)...

The cheapest thing to do, would be to find a small 'black box' fixture, or a cheapo 54 watt 'reef' light that matches the spectrum in your post. Otherwise, spend a few bucks and get an AI Prime or some other fancy nano light...

All corals open up and fully extended.

Let’s see if I can find a black box. Why does the light need to be the same spectrum?
