Ok this debate has came up 10000 times however I have some questions

Ive recently been going to several friends houses that run t5s and halides and their coral growth is beyond amazing. I go to houses with LEDs and their tanks are pretty however the coral growth does not seem as great.

I currently have a 16k 160 watt Maxspect Razor

I noticed a company called fish need it that is having a 50% off sale

I can get a 250 Watt Halide , 4 t5s and replacement bulbs that would last me at least two years for a great price. I have a reef keeper im not using so timers would not be a option.

What is your opinion

I was gonna run it as followed

1st set of t5 On - 11 AM - Off - 9PM
2nd Set of t5 On - Noon - Off 10 PM
Halide 250 Watt - On 2pm , Off at 6 PM

I normally run my LEDs from 10am -1030pm with a ramp up and down of a couple hours. Power consumption wise it should not be that big of a difference since I only run the halide for 4 hours and the t5s consume less power then the LEDs if Im correct as far as the LED consumes 160 watts and the 4 t5s consume 156 plus the total time the light is on is actually 2 hours less then the LEDs. Please chime in let me know.
