which don`t need to be the problem of 3watts or so - it is depending on the used nanometer and the resulting par/pur value. 3w can also have a output which is "okay" but not as good as a highpower 1w led
give me the functionality of LEDs and apply that to T5 and mh than we can talk

which functionalities do you mean ? why sticking with T5 and MH ?
programming functionality, simulations, etc. I am old school I love MH and T5

So I guess it's another one of those things where I'll just have to guess? Right now I am running a 36" Reefbrite and 4 x T-5s. I do not get much growth at all with my SPS eccept my pink birds nest. My Green slimmers are about the same size as they where 6 months ago. I'm looking for growth and health of my live stock. Keep the replies coming so I can make up my mind.......... My tank is just 18" deep..

I just switched from a t5 6 bulb setup to 2 radion fixtures. Not really sure if I like them. Corals are happy. But I'm not sure if I like the shadows and dark spots created with one source lights. I love my t5. And my tank wa truly bright

I'm looking for growth diff with MH compaired to LEDs. I am now running 1 36" Reefbrite with 4Xt-5s. Not too impressed with growth.

but now discussion of better growth for T5/MH/LED - also the question is how fine the rest of the tank are. growth initiated by light will only take place when the rest is also fine, ca,mg,alk,temp.. in a good working tank corals can grow also with t5 - mostly better with good leds but... ;-)
those Swiss tanks are dosed with stuff from Sandoz that is why the colors are so spectacular...LOL j/k

i just switched back to mh/t5 from ai sol blues i got good growth under leds my problem was coloring alot of multicolored corals lile red planet, cali tort, rainbow acans and lobo's all became one color or turned orange. when i went back to mh/t5 withing two weeks corals started coloring back up as when i had them under leds

nope - nothing. even no zeolite-******** (sorry) some just use balling/balling light and standard ca reactor.
And of course, we do have some "filters" here in switzerland, where you can control your nitrate to get best results.. ;-)
