Led vs t5

Take some light measurements next time! :)

Even a lux meter like the cheapie "LX-1010B" I use would generate useful data, but if you can get your hands on a PAR meter, so much the better.

I've been debating about picking up a saneye to play around with!

The cheapie I mentioned only costs $15, delivered. So if you're on the fence, get one of those to play around with....it's nice to have a handheld unit anyway. You can get an idea of how useful ( or not) it might be – you should have a better idea about the use-case for a Seneye then.

I was going to compare an mq510 apogee to a Seneye reef tonight but got side tracked setting up a 2016 Apex :D

I have plans to do it tomorrow evening now.

Best of both world.

Very nice, I just setup T5s down the middle with LED fixtures along both sides of them.

Let us know how that goes!

Honestly I'm on the bus of more par isn't necessarily a good thing for growth and it's more of a wavelength.
As my plan is to continue the normal LED ramp but reduce the peak day by 25% and run the T5's in that time frame.

I am running a 90gal with a Radion G2 and G3. It took a while to get my lighting profile dialed in but once I did my results are almost as good as a T5 set up. My only complaint is the shadowing on the corals. I am saving up to get a G4 Pro and see if it addresses this.
