LEDS and T5s Anyone?

Not to stop anyone from posting, but if you search the forum for "hybrid led" you'll find quite a few examples. Most folks who go that route seem to object to the shadows created by the LED systems they select and use the T5's the fill in. Different LED's don't cast shadows like that, so I've never fully understood taking on the extra expense of the T5's.

I have 6- 80w ATI t5s and AI Sol Blue Leds down the center of my 180. I like the look and growth I get. I felt the leds alone didn't support everything. My leds are set to ramp up and down for sun up/down, moonlight while my t5s come on in stages; 10am 2x blue+ then 11am 2x purple+ then 11:30am 2x coral+ and off the same in reverse beginning at 6pm-9pm. I grow everything from zoas to acros.

I'm looking into going this route although I wonder how affective the T 5s will be since my tank is 48" deep. I'm going 8 Radion 30 and maybe 2 4 ft T5 fixtures. As many as my canopy will hold it is 36 " wide so I'm wondering how many I can fit in there with the 8 radions.

I like that when I had a bunch of different corals that where bleached it brought color back to them. The growth has been great and I only replace 2 bulbs. The T5 that im using is ATI Coral+(Both Bulbs) The Reason I went with that bulb is it seemed to have the entire spectrum when I was looking at the graph. Which was perfect for me since Im only running 2 bulbs. S
