Im thinking about doing a 2ft x 2ft shallow reef tank. About 12 inches deep.... maybe only 10 i haven't decided yet.

Its going to have a single island in the center. This will be a dedicated sps and clam tank. With a 29 gallon sump/ fuge.

How many Leds would i need to get sps to grow and keep maximus and deressa clams happy ?

That one has 55 3 watt leds.... i think that one would Burn the corals dont you ? The tank is going to be about 12" deep Plus a sand bed. I dont wanna cook my corals. lol

Have you looked at the BuildMyLED fixtures? I have two over a 20 long and I have to run both at 50% or less. I have them sitting on a glass top.

You can use two or three LEDs or a hundred, and both can get the same job done. It all depends on the output of the LEDs. Are you looking for a DIY or premade?

Found a cool spread sheet for leds. It says for a minimum 11 royal blue and 5 white OR 5 three ups

Does that sound about right ?

Its got a Dimmer on it. Don't turn them all the way up right away.
