T5 and MH still gives the best colors than LED for sure.

If you are a long time reefer, you know that color is more important than growth

Are you joking ??? Hopefully, or just have not had any real experience with quality LED lighting. I've been Reefkeeping since 1982 (years of using MH, VHO and T5's) and can tell you first hand that a proper LED setup will out shine either MH or T5 in all aspects. There is still an amazing amount of mis-information in this hobby and info on LED's top that list. Because of the very narrow spectral values of these emitters one can recreate almost any light source, but one that does not shift with time as all incandescent and fluorescent lamps do.

Just saw this and agree with tj below....

"Best" colors LEDs for sure. Mh and t5 will give u a different color BUT best....led by far. And as far as the color more important than growth....
I'm not a long term reefer (only 6 years or so) but I'd say color and growth are equally important as they both indicate good health ime. I've seen people with the fastest growing brown acro ever and other acros that their color is beautiful but haven't grown 1/4" in 8 months. Which is better?

I have a DIY with Crees...cool white, blue, royal blue, couple red, couple green. Def a 20k spectrum/14k when whites are full on.

My fixture is exact replica of 2 radion pros combined. Those (or any other fixture full spectrum with Crees) IMO are hands down the best.
