LED's How?

I like what i'm seeing with these new led's coming out with the maxspect and pacific sun, new reefbrights...etc. What I don't get is how they are coming out with them if there is suppose to be a orbitec patent? Also how is the horticulture industry still doing it : ) Is the whole orbitec thing busted or what? Also does anyone have any par #'s for the pacific sun's or maxspect's?

I believe its all in how its worded "aquarium LED" is patented but "hydroponic lighting" is not. Thats how PacSun works around it ........I think.

Thats what i was wondering. Seems like if that was the case solaris would still be around though.

From what I understand is they can't claim "for growth" but supplemental lighting which would mean that they are not used for primary lighting. Also they can't be dimmable if made in the U.S. But from what I understand is a foreign company can make them and they can be imported with a dimmable feature as foreign companies are not under U.S. patents for manufacturing......But I could be wrong on the last part, but that is what I get from what I have read about some of the issue.

Thats what i figured too, made in china can't be sued. Well now i guess i need to check some out in person and do some par testing. I just don't like the fact no one in the US sells the macspect units. I did see them on ebay.

If I were to go with one it would be one of the Pacsun ones, probably the Python. Made in Poland 100% and they have facilities in New Jersey or New York I think, were they can do warranties if need be.

I will be doing one soon enough... I just have this sickness rite now and I can't quit buying corals lol... I have done spent almost a grand this month on corals and then I had to buy more Rock because I ran of places to put it..

anywho I will be doing a thread here soon with a full dimmable version with all the works... Just gotta save!!!!
If I ask for corals don't sell them to me!!!!lol
