I had metal halides for a long time and there were no settings. Now, I have a couple of the black box Led's over mostly softies and just a couple SPS. Should you set the lights at a spectrum you like and never change it? Is it better for corals this way? Now that I work from home right in front of my tank I make changes to the lighting all the time depending on my mood. Some days I fell like more blues and other days I'm digging on more daylight spectrum. I think my fish's colors come out more on daylight spectrum. Is this bad for the coral?

Find whats best for the coral as its their main source of energy. If you want whiter light when you're home then program it as such and don't change it ever again. Constantly changing your lighting settings is bad for coral.

yes constantly changing the leds is bad. i have a t5 led hybrid i run the leds pretty blue in the morning ramping to fairly white in the afternoon then the t5 kick on for 4 hour the n the leds slowly ramp down to blue.

My first thought was that changing the spectrum occasionally would be more natural as there are cloudy days and sunny day's in real life. Yesterday, BRS had a live video on black box led's and after I started reading about them and came across something that said you should set and never change. Thank you for confirming!
