LEDZeal Mirage X300 - PAR Readings

thanks for shooting and uploading that. Thats a very reasonable and nice shimmer effect!

No problem at all, if I can help people be successful and save money at the same time, then I think its completely worth the few minutes to get the vid posted

@Shooter6
I too have run run LEDZEAL for many years, 2 S-400’s and 1 S-300 over a 400 gallon 72x36x36, in fact, the 2 S-400’s are still running today on my newer tank with T5’s.

I’ve done many upgrades throughout the years and designed a similar layout as yours. One of my goals was to be able to use all channels at around the same percentage as most of the lights out there have too much white that you end up not using and going to waste.

I have a few questions.
1) Which lenses are you using with lights at 17” above water? Mine are at 18” and thinking in ordering with 90 degree.
2) Do you know if they are developing a new light? These are almost 2 years in the making and I don’t want to pull the trigger on a set that may be discontinued soon.
3) I’m planning on 4 x200 over a 60x30x30 full SPS; thoughts?

Awesome!
I'm running the 120 degree lenses.
40% per channel gives me 300 par at the bottom at peak of the schedule.
I'd say 2 x200, should be able to do it. There's also the x300 (35.5" long) and an x400 in the works (47.5"). I also suggested they add a few more leds to the current lights as that would allow a few more colors to be added such as amber and more cyan. The lights meanwell driver can more then handle another 10-20 diodes without any problem. Kevin said he would pass it on to the engineers but that's the last I heard, a month or so ago.
I'm easily growing sps on my bottom even with the black starboard sheeting not reflecting any light back up. I don't see any reason 2 x200 with 120 lenses would not provide great coverage

im looking at a 150 for my nano tank, would be good to add a VDC port to control with reefpi, apex, GHL etc. would really help them get more people buying in too, as that's what all the kids are buying these days. so the business case is there, it's easy to do so should be a no-brainer.

Why would you want that? You realize it has an app to set it, and once set theres really no reason to play with the settings? I could pass that info on to the rep or you can, the one I use is [email protected]
.

everyone that has a controller wants to use the controller. not a need but nice to have. you know the drill pJ 2 is 1 and 1 is none. if they want to sell to the masses I bet it would help, single pane of glass to control all tank needs from single application is what they all ask for.

not to sound redundant but that's the reason people buy the apex, we tell ourselves its for monitoring but its for tinkering

Your referring to two is one. One is none?

That is exactly why I don't like the apex control everything idea. That becomes a linchpin, single point of failure, added to every device. Literally doubling the failure risk on everything its able to control.

Example: 1 return pump can fail.

Example 2: return pump can fail OR apex fail taking the return pump off line as well.

This is where I see the hydros multi brain collective is leaps ahead of the apex.

I understand ya, same time it's like the movie joe dirt.... "it's not what you want, it's what the customer wants" :D

Light coverage by a single fixture does not compare. It takes multiple of the noops to cover the same area as a single x300.
Also looking at the g5 the cluster puck design is going to die out.
Lastly the x300 superblue has no disco effect. But a muted shimmer.
Thank you for all the info and the super blue. The new Smatfarm is going back because I just ordered an X300! :)
I'm still waiting for my 108 gallon fijicube to ship out. :(

After reading this thread I'm considering replacing my radion g3 pros with the ledzeal. I have a 6x2x2 tank. Do you think 2 x200 or 2 x300 would be best?

Also could someone share a photo of these mounted or hung?
Thanks

If you have Radions already why change?
I have a 60x36x36 and have 4 X200’s and 3 Orphek light bars.

They're quite old and noticed a couple blackened diodes the other day so might be time to change.

Either would be plenty, the only difference Bing possibly slightly higher mounting for the x200.

Cost wise I'd say go with the 200 though.

As for layout 120 degree lenses and the superblue layout. I personally designed that layout after studying the new at the time g5 blue, hydra 64hd, sky, and Orpheks. I currently run 4 x200 superblue over my 8x3x2 400g. Height is approximately 15 inch off the water.

Peak output of 40% per channel and with the brs par meter, getting 300 par across the entire bottom. With the seneye the spectrum is almost perfect with the ati blue plus, aquablue combo.

I will post a couple vids in a few minutes but here's some pics.

As for mounting, I'm using the original cable mounts, but as I understood they were coming out with an arm bracket. I dont know if that has happened though.

That does look nice! I also like the idea of the 200's so it doesn't physically look so big over the tank
Yeah the x300 were not out yet when i bought mine, but I feel those are for an 8ft tank. The 120 lenses spread the light out very well.
