LEDZeal Mirage X300 - PAR Readings

I have custom Mirage X200's over my 300g and I love them. I spent around $800 US including shipping to get them to me in Canada and when I looked at Radions I would have been well over $3500 for 3. I have added some OR3 Orphek's only because I have a 26" wide tank and I wanted to make sure I had light up the sides.

Whats the dimensions? Im getting 4 x300 for my 8x3x2 and 4-5 x200 for my 8x30x2.
The 400g im running 2 rows long way, the 320g im going to run front to back.

Any pics?

My tank is 84" x 32"H x 26"H I got it wrong on my post above about my width. That's why I got the Orpheks. I also have a eurobrace and I tilted the Orpheks to shine on things shadowed by growing SPS.

Overall, I wish I got 4 and angled them instead of 3 running end to end...would have saved the dough on the Orphek.

So you have the custom mirage x200 lights over it , or orpheks? Or do you mean you have the x200 and Orpheks?

Hey do yall think a Zeus s200 would be enough for a 60g 48×12×24? Or is it underpowered? And how much would it cost?

Personally im not a fan of the Zeus line. To narrow and under powered.
You didnt state your reef stock, softy, lps, sps, mixed. For a soft tank its probably fine, anything else, pay the few dollars more and get the mirage x.

I'm planning on keeping everything but right now I have softies and some current usa's that are garbage. My tank is quite small compared to yours so thats why I thought the Zeus would work

It may, But the mirage x with superblue layout is such a huge improvement, i would just get it. Run it at a lower output per channel and have plenty of room to grow into it, instead of having to buy another light in the future. Sounds like by the dimensions, you have a standard 55gal? So more depth then width?

Sorry it the Marineland 60gal old version so L48.5"×W12.7"×H25"

Yeah thats about the same measurements as a standard 55g

So depth is the real issue to consider. A single x300 mounted about 13inches above the water will give full coverage. May need to put lps or softies on the far sides, but grow sps all the way to the bottom in the rest. Thats at 45% per channel

How long did it take for them to reply to you?

About a day or two. If they didnt get back to you recently, its because of the asian new year. The guy i deal with, Kevin, said they were off for 2 weeks. His direct email is [email protected]
Try contacting him directly and see if you get a quicker response.

Recently acquired an LEDZeal Mirage X300 to replace my 6 year old ReefBreeders photon v1. As part of the process I took PAR readings of my old fixture as a reference point. This of course means I took measurements of the X300 when I installed it and I wanted to share my findings. These fixtures pack a punch and I was impressed with the spread for the matrix/array layout. The phone/wifi controllability also makes it easy to control the lights.

The fixture I have is the "superblue layout".

Below are three different tests:
  1. Peak intensity of my custom program that I am currently running over the tank (40/32/40/50)
  2. 50% on all channels (50/50/50/50)
  3. 100% on all channels (100/100/100/100)
All readings were taken with an Apogee SQ-120 sensor connected to my fluke meter.

I am looking into this unit for my tank. Can you tell me how many different timer settings the unit has for every 24hr. How many channels does the unit have and am I right in thinking that there is an app to download to arrange all of the settings

Sorry work has been crazy busy. I have both. I have 3 custom Mirage X200's and two OR3 light bars on the tank.

4 channels
Theres about 8 time points per channel.
I believe on this vid i made, i show the programming, if not on one of rhe other vids on my channel i should have it.

HI Shooter6,

many thanks for the video...that helps a lot..but it also needs more answers.

1. You say you max out at 45% on the brightness. I only use 35% on my current light. At 45% do the fans kick in...you also mention that the fans are not 'quiet' ?
2. I assume the instructions are the same for the X300 which is the light I am looking at.
3. Not sure I understand about the wifi connecting to the unit. Can you explain more pls. I have downloaded the app just to see how its set up and it did connect to my house wifi. Are you saying that when I power up the unit it will not use my home wifi but the built in wifi in the power box
4. When you showed the 4 different channels they show a red, white, yellow and green line..I assume the instructions do explain which channel operates which lights
5. Ive been told that the lights dont just 'change' from one setting to another but do it gradually over the time...so a drop from 40% to 20% doesnt happen at once but goes from 40 to 39 to 38 etc over time ? until it gets to 20% at the time set.

Thanks again for the video..I may need to pick your brains when the unit arrives...hope thats ok.

Hi Shooter6...
so this is me. I'm interested in seeing what difference there is with the x200 you have and my current black box. This unit is on its way out and thats why I am looking at the x300. Would you say the lighting on yours is better/worse/same as mine. Sorry for the rubbish video..I don't have a great camera on my phone.

Ok ill try to answer all q's
Fans are not loud, but not dead silent either. I see people claim other lights fans are dead silent. That isn't the case with these, and to say they are would be misleading.
At 45% on each channel the fans dont come on. They come o. Around 55%.
Same setup and programming for all x150,x200&x300.
Theres not much for instructions, unless they started adding them, but when you program each channel (color line) you will see which lights it changes.
Yes they to ramp up and down in between each time set. So lets say 1400 -10%
1800 - 55%
Then at 1500 it will have ramped up to lets say 42%.
As for programming, when you plug the master in, it turns on. On the device that has the app, you go to the wifi, the mirage x wifi will show up. You connect to it, then open the app. Here is a pic of the layout per channel. The x300 has another square of led clusters.
When you open the app, you click on the icon in the pic, then choose one of the 3diy icons. Then the page with the 4 channels appears. You click on each channel and program the times and % at each time. As a heads up it only works with military (international time)

Ill answer you like this. When i first set my tank up i had 6 blackbox lights and 4 t5. The blackbox were the wifi type, and ihad issues with the wifi loosing connection ect. I changed them over to ledzeals discontinued malibu s400 and kept the t5. That was a great improvement over the blackbox. When planning my new 1200g system, i was going to use the malibu, with cwstrife ( on here) custom layout, but the light was discontinued. I worked with ledzeal, cwstrife, for over a year trying to save the malibu, then with ledzeal to come up with a custom layout.
I designed the "superblue" layout, by copying the g5blue, redsea led,and hydra hd led colors/selection as much as i could with only 4 channels. I cut out the red and green, but used the cyan ( green) from the g5, and the violet blue (red) from the redsea led90 and orphek. These colors add the green and red while also supplemental blue too.
The light increased growth exponentially allong with an overall better color rendition over any of the previous led lights. I even removed the t5 as they were not adding any color, and these lights did away with any shadowing i previous had with the blackbox lights.
