So I was filling up the top off tank on my Reefer and I forgot to turn it off. Dumped about 25 gallons of fresh water into the tank. The salinity dropped from 1.025 to 1.023. Its a sps dominated tank with clams. Should I just wait for the water to evaporate. Slowly bri g it back up to 1.025 and drain the excess water. Whats the best way to handle without further stressing things out. Do you think this will causing a bleaching event?

I would slowly bring the salinity back up to normal and remove the excess water. You might shock some corals and inverts from the salinity drop but I don't think all of them are going to bleach.

that drop should be ok. Just watch the livestock. even with it being off a few points, whether you choose to try to bring back up or wait for it to evaporate (which is what I have actually done recently), keep the change slow. I actually believe your livestock is fine. Several of my local LFS stores keep salinity at 1.020 and the SPS (even sensitive Acros they have), other inverts (such as clams, shrimp, and crabs), and of course the fish all are fine. I would be more worried about if there was a rapid change that may cause stress. But I am willing to bet, it was no quicker than acclimating new livestock. So don't worry. Watch, wait, and any changes you choose to do should be slow. :)
