Last night I went to up the amount for my doser dosing vinegar. I upped it from 4 minutes 8x a day to 6 min 8x a day. It is a brs 1.1 ml doser on a timer. I made sure it wasn't on when I plugged it in and set to auto. Not really sure how but at some point it was set to on. I ended up dosing my tank with about a quart of vinegar. Obviously the tank is cloudy. Of course today is my nephews birthday party so not much I can do about it. I know people have done it before but I don't think as much. I must have some fat bacteria . Tank is about 100 total gallons 75 gallon 20 gallon Dts with a 40 gallon sump. How big of a deal is this gonna be

I would change like 50% then 50% tomorrow. Also get some prime on hand just in case you start a cycle again.

I changed about 30 to 35 gallons all that I had made up. Changed out filter sock setting skimmer to a wet skim and added more surface agitation. About all I can do for now. Should be okay would like to be certain of that though

Aeration is the key. Do as much as you can.

If the pH is below 7.4, I'd add a high pH buffer (hydroxide is best), even though that will boost the alk above normal.

Water changes are good.

So far so good. The few softies I have are mad. Ph didn't seem to drop to much. I have a ph meter not sure if it's calibrated but normally reads 8.3 to 8.5 which is why I doubt it is read 8.2. So either way should be in a good range atleast not as low as 7.4. I have polyp extension from most sps and all lps. Fish are doing fine. I have a wp 25 at the surface along with all my returns. I think coralline is dying off not to sad about that but if that's dying off I'm sure other things are too. I need more salt. Clearing up some after last night's water change

So far so good. My gsp is starting to pop out again. I think I got a good side effect from this. Pretty sure it wiped out the cyano. Not sure if it's for good or it will just grow back but I don't see any sign of it.

My clam died on me. It was new so may or may not be related. So I know quiting car con dosing cold turkey can be bad. So should I keep the same dose that I was running or should I bump it up some. What is the best thing to do. My nitrates were 0 last time I checked

Also for future use of doser if you are using apex, make sure to plug doser into a relay port. I had one doser that would stay on since it just bearly pulls power it won't fully shut off.

Sorry about the clam. :(

I wouldn't raise the dose any. I might lower it, or keep it the same. There are less nutrients now so you run the rick of driving them too low with any higher dose, and maybe even the same dose.

Okay. I'll probably keep it at the 30 ml or what ever it's at now then lower it some each week.
