Hello!

I love to travel and find myself in strange, hard to reach places pretty often. The last couple of trips have taken me to extremely remote rainforests of Peru and Colombia. I am planning to travel to Indonesia within the next few years and was wondering the following.

1) Is there a legal process to bring back SPS in a personal capacity?
2) Has anyone ever done this and was it arranged through a wholesaler or broker?
3) Clearly it wouldn't be allowed on Carry On and I would need to have a stable container.

I would be pretty happy to collect a Ludicrous chalice from the wild, but only in a way that is legal and does not disrupt the local eco system. I never look forward to passing through customs.

Not worth it IMO. The legally run exporters have enough trouble bringing coral back to the states (constantly in and out of shutdowns) you would need cites permits and follow extremely detailed protocols. If you make one mistake it could be a a hefty fine or criminal charge

Your best bet would be to try to reach out to collectors already doing imports and see if they would be interested in allowing you to accompany them in collecting. You will pay considerable amounts for the guide service, permits, and shipping in my opinion. But I'm sure it could be done. Money can get you just about anything... so im sure it's possible, just how much are you willing to pay.
