Versus blue devil, yellowtail and domino- yes , a little more docile

ORA claims captive bred lemon damsel are more peaceful. Is there any truth to this? What’s your experience with CAPTIVE bred lemon damsels?
Not sure if this is the same. Got what was called a lemon chromis. Looks like this and has been very peaceful, though its the smallest fish in the tank outside of a maroon clown and I have no other chromis or damsels.

I have two of them. They are okay. Meaning, they have a territory and guard it. Mine are a pair and when the male is guarding eggs, he can be a jerk. They do not just randomly go after my other fish.
However, the male will fly across 7ft to bite me when I am in the tank. He is a total jerk. Does not hurt though. Just startles me a bit.
My azures and talkbots are more docile than the lemons.

@jtf74 you’re fish looks like a juvi Amblyglyphidodon aureus. They look really nice as adults.

Pomacentrus damsels are mostly OK. I bought a pair of Talbots damsels off LA a few years ago that turned out to be Ambon. Self not happy. Fortunately they’ve been ok. Lemons about the same. Whether captive bred are more peaceful than their wild brethren I cannot say.

@DeniseAndy most fish that are paired usually can be jerks ime so that doesn’t surprise me. I went with a pair of purple firefish instead of the lemon. Maybe when I have larger tank I can risk it.

I had three, but one died in the "puple tang" incident. (We do not speak of it.) These guys are funny. They do not hang out together at all. Only for mating. Then female goes to her side and male protects the eggs. Cool to see, but firefish will be fun. Good luck!!!! Would love to see a picture.

I have a blue devil. He was fine when I bought him but was added after I had about 3 other fish. I have since lost those fish. Now he is all alone. I bought an anthia and he chased him around and took swipes at him but seemed to settle in! I came home from 3 week hospital stay and anthia was gone. Dont know if he jumped or maybe nibbled to death! I now keep a lid on tank! lost so many that way! I am placing an order for nudibranch and get free shipping if I add 30 bucks so thinking about adding a lemon for 7.99! I read they dull up after they age anyone know if thats true and what are the chances of putting two damsels together? Any other suggestions on what will work. Will they go after shrimp? i had a hawk eat a big shrimp! cant remember name of shrimp LOL.
