So just got home and found this guy laying on his side. Looks like he's been beaten up pretty bad. Got him in the QT but wondering if there is anything I can do to help him out. Copper, stress zyme, etc? Thanks for the advice.

Hi all,

Sorry, but the fish didn't make it. He was breathing really fast and within half hour in the qt he was no longer. I have a flame angel and a hippo tang, the lemon peel was hanging around the coral banded shrimp so I'm really not sure who the culprit is.

Oh man. Sorry for your loss. Placing my bet on the flame angel. Dwarf angels often do not get along very well with other dwarf angels.

Thanks, unfortunate that it happened but all I can do is lead from it. Got me to really set up a qt system again which is good practice so it’s a blessing in disguise. I’m placing my money on the flame angel too. Seeing that the lemon peel is the wife’s favorite fish, the flame angel is getting the boot.

How big is your tank? I am about to combine 2 pygmy angels but in a 180. They will go in at the same time so I was hoping this would work. A flame angel and a flameback angel.

Hmm
Neptune.

Can you get your wife to fall in love with the flame angel? Many ways to bring awesome yellow into a reef. The flame angel is one of a kind IMO.

Curious - what is the evidence that its the flame angel? did the lemon peel have damage to its fins? Did you see it attacking the other one? etc. How long was he and the flame in the tank. It could be illness - or something unrelated to the flame angel. FYI - I have had flame angels with no problem - once the fish all acclimated to each other. It also depends on the size of the tank..

Do you have corals? I bought a cute lemon peel- that proceeded decimate about 500$ of coral in the course of a week - and he was difficult to catch even using a fish trap - I would be careful with them

True but the only way to get her to like the flame angel is if I set up another tank for the lemon peel...maybe it's not such a bad thing lol. I agree I love the flame angel. Have to wait for another lemon peel to show up, we dont see them all the time.
