Looking for advice on a “problem” fish. Background - I lost the entire fish stock of a 6 year old reef tank around 4 months ago due to a bad outbreak of Brooklynella. All the inverts were okay and after 12 weeks of leaving the tank with no fish, I eventually decided to buy some new live stock. 2 weeks ago I got 2 clown fish (Ocellaris) and a Lemonpeel Angel fish and today I bought an Anemone. The Lemonpeel is the reason for my query. Against all good advice and the protestations of the LFS assistant I seemed to lose all common sense and decided to take the chance on the fish (I have always loved it!). Exactly as warned within a few days the Lemonpeel had devoured my clam and I realised I wouldn’t be one of the lucky ones. He’s been very well behaved with my other SPS but I noticed tonight my cleaner shrimp has gone. He was probably quite old anyway so there is a chance he died of old age, but is it possible the angel killed him? I knew about the risks of the corals and the clam but didn’t think there was any problems with crabs or shrimps. Is this a coincidence or should I think about re-homing him? I have 2 flame shrimp, a boxer shrimp, 4 emerald crabs, half a dozen hermits, one anemone crab and a feather duster. I’d also like to get another cleaner shrimp so want to make sure they are going to be okay or if I need to get rid of the Lemonpeel (easier said than done as I’ve heard!)
