anyone have this monti? if so, what are your lighting and flow for it? I heard that this specific monti was long gone until recently....

I am very proud to say I just received a certified piece of this coral today. I have no specifics yet as it has just been placed in my tank. I am planning on maintaining it as I have with almost all my other monti, that is with LEDs and moderate-high flow. The history on this particular piece of coral is very exciting. I think there is a current auction going on right now for another piece of this.

nice, where did you get it from and for how much? just trying to get an idea here

There's a monti cap called Leng Sy that's common and lots of people have it. It's just a green cap with a purple rim, it doesn't grow the big spikes and and purple rim is just a small outline. The reeffarmers Leng Sy isn't a cap. I think it's tuberculosa.

Thanks Ritter. Wow that is an awesome piece, I'd love to see that come around . My only caps( assuming that's what that is) is a straight purple, green and red...

Ya I guess that makes sense with all those overgrown parts on the inside.. Still learning still learning.. Lol

It has a good history, the link ritter posted talks about how there is a variant out in the public but definitely not the Leng Sy that is now being put back into the public. I purchased mine from the reeffarmers.com auction. They have another auction that just started today.
I am attaching a picture of the piece I got today, but not the greatest picture as it's with my phone.

You knocked out my bid quick on the auction. Lol

Keep us updated with your progress.

I'm sorry to hear that. There was actually some confusion as I sent in one last bid 10 minutes before the close of auction. They declared someone else the winner and then received my email bumping the bid up. So after some discussion they offered another piece to me at the highest bid as well. Pretty nice of them I thought. I will update as I see some growth and changes in this.

I saw that. Glad they made it right and you were happy with the outcome. I'm scoping out the other auctions. Glad to see that piece found a good home.

Great piece you got. Steve is a long time friend and a good guy. He is a straight shooter and knows his corals for sure.

All a hoax to make more money if you ask me. The world is big there are old school reffers that have it from years and years ago not naming any names but this is not the only piece around. Just a hyped up inflated price game.

This is my piece not from Tyree but from Zach (DigitalFishRoom):

Got some vertical growth but not crazy vertical likes the one I saw on Tyree's site.

I have this one that has a lot of vertical growth. Very different pattern than the leng sy. The significant difference is the extensive rim of purple on the leng sy that some of the "older" pieces do not have.
