Does anyone know how leopard wrasses do with copper treatment?

I have heard that most wrasses do not do well with ionic copper treatments. Chelated copper seems to be a safer option.

Correct, that is a chelated copper product, and the one I use since it is so easy to find.
Thanks I have both coppersafe and cupramine, just wanted to make sure before I get them, now should I add sand in a container?

Yup, enough to make the wrasse comfortable but try not to use too much. Substrates make it more difficult to maintain a constant copper level.

Yes, you'll need sand. Just realize that it may absorb some copper, so keep testing your copper level for a few days once you reach therapeutic levels.

Awesome thank you guys so much! Is the api copper test any good or no?

I was wondering about this also. I have a leopard coming from LA tommorow. For all my fish I do 2 weeks prazi pro and 2 weeks cupramine. I've read and saw leopard wrasses are poor shippers. I was actually considering only doing prazipro in the tank and skip cupramine altogether.

Cupramine is an ionic copper so imo you should not use that. If you decide to treat with copper, you should find a chelated copper product.

And that's a fine plan, if you're vigilant and know what to look for with ich & velvet. However, even still the door is open just a crack for ich to sneak past. Therefore, some people do not feel comfortable QT'ing without copper.

I for one, do not use copper with wrasses as a prophylactic treatment.
