Leopard wrasse and prazipro treatment

I dosed prazipro in a 75g with the leopard wrasse and now the wrasse is laying on the sand breathing heavy, . Did I just killed my wrasse? I just read that i shouldve dosed slowly for the wrasse to get used to it?

Prazipro should not cause that. However, I would add oxygen quick because it can lower O2 levels during treatment. The bottle recommends turning off the skimmer which is a BAD idea, leave it on but remove the collection cup. This will continue to aerate the water well. Also, make sure one of your power heads/wave makers is breaking the surface and noticeably agitating it which will also increase dissolved oxygen levels.

Unless your wrasse was completely infested to the max which is unlikely, it is highly unlikely that prazi pro did any harm.

IME; wrasses do seem sensitive to prazi. I still use it on them, but I am very careful not to overdose.

Interesting. My 23 showed no ill effects at 2x dose. Maybe it was luck? I suspect though that many issues are related to 02 levels.

I have noticed this issue with my lubbocks wrasse as well. It seemed to be better after doing a large water change between treatments. After the second dose it was hiding, laying on its side, breathing heavily. It still eats and the firefish in the tank shows no issues. The fish was in qt for 4 weeks of hypo and was healthy and had no issues before the prazi treatments.
