Leopard Wrasse stabbed by File fish

my leopard wrasse has bristles all along it’s eye and side of body. Looks like it was stabbed and still has bristles on its side. Should it be captured and bristles removed or leave it?

it is trying to eat but it’s aim is off. Usually swims around and is swimming on bottom so I noticed it was not normal. I don’t want to lose it

Leave it as, removing it will make it worse. You shouldn’t have to remove it unless it gets serious like an infection or it can’t eat or swim well.

It is trying to eat the food but is missing miserably.

If you have a QT then move it into there until it’s healed. If you don’t have a QT, feed it in a breeder box.

But really it should be fine left in the DT and if doesn’t eat for more than 2 days then move it.

Would it need to be removed to place in breeder box?

I was thinking of putting sand in the back so it has a place to burry and possibly remove bristles at the same time. I’m bare bottom I’m assuming it was floating under rocks sleeping last night and ran into a bristle worm I’m not aware of that’s in there. I don’t see how a file fish could have those bristles

They are so light It wouldn’t come out in the picture. But they are stabbed around the eye and a little on its side.

This sucks she’s blue star leopard and really fat from being healthy

The right side eye is bulging l, and the side with the bristles is the left eye.

It looks faint I’m already accepting that it’s going to die. I don’t know what else to do . I feel if I transfer it to the 10 gallon setup I put up yesterday , the stress alone will finish it off
