I've had my Leopard Wrasse over 4 years and he has recently stopped eating. He is no longer hunting in the live rock like he used to. Now he just swims up and down the side of the glass. It almost seems like his mouth won't open, but there is no physical damage. When he goes to check out food, he just bumps into and that's it. I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to help him out. He is losing his big belly and I fear he won't last much longer.

Have you added any other fish recently? Does it’s colors look faded or any external signs of parasites? Ich, velvet?

Just trying to cover all bases. My gut reaction to stopping eating is internal issues, possible internal parasites or bacterial infection.

No new fish added. His color is not as vibrant as it used to be, a little faded. No signs of any external parasites. I feed Spectrum Thera-A pellets occasionally because I have 6 other Wrasses and I know they're prone to parasites .

Okay. Let’s get some eyes on this one: #reefsquad

Any aggressiveness with other wrasses?

First of all, I dig the name - good song.

Second of all, can you post a video of his behavior and condition?

Anything new that’s wet that was added in last 2 months?

Try adding frozen mysis to the diet. If that doesn't work, try live adult brine, they aren't very nutritious, but we are trying to get a feeding response started.

Pacing up and down the glass hasn't been a good sign in mature leopard and Anampses wrasses IME. I have noticed this can be precipitated by big swings in kh. However, once they stop eating and start pacing, it is a slow and steady decline.

I've had that happen twice, once with a leopard as well and a blue star leopard.
Not much you can do, the blue star past, it was mind boggling.
The leopard starting to eat again after a few day, so weird but we all know it's nature and sometimes it's out of our control no matter how much time you put in.

I will post a video later today.
I moved all my fish from a 125 to a 210 in Aug(to a different state). I ended up losing most of my coral. The water got nasty. I was doing 50g water changes daily until it clear up. None of the fish were noticeably affected even though I'm sure they were stressed. I've been testing my parameters and they're all within normal range.

Wondering if that stress taxed it heavily. So no new Fish, Coral, inverts?

Frozen Mysis is in my normal feeding routine. He used to eat like a pig until 3 days ago.
I tested my alk for the first time in this tank last weekend and it was 8.5. I don't know if it would be fluctuating too much with weekly water changes. I don't have anywhere local to get live food. I do have a pod hotel in my refugium I can empty into the tank to see if i can get a feeding response

I feel like he wants to eat, but maybe can't. I was feeding a Nori clip lastnight, which he normally loved. He would go up to it and just bump into it. It's like he can't open his mouth.

I've gotten a few LPS 2 weeks ago and I did put 8" square of crushed coral under them to prevent my diamond goby from spreading sand on them.

Wondering if that brought something in, such as velvet. It wouldn’t be the first time. Did it come from lfs?
