I have two leopards in my tank right now, a male blue star and a female spotted for almost a year. For the last week or so I have noticed the female going to sleep earlier than the male. Well when she does this he starts to freak out swimming erratically and spinning in circles till he goes to sleep himself. He does not do this while she is out, only when she goes to bed for the evening. Should I be worried???

Interesting. @eatbreakfast@evolved

Wow that's odd. I've seen my leopards circle a few times before diving under the sand for the night but nothing as you describe

I can't say I've ever heard of such a thing either, but it wouldn't concern me too much.

I know this is an old post, but what was the outcome of your male leopard wrasse? Mine is doing the exact same thing, so I Googled the behavior and this popped up lol

Haha! Leopard was fine without any other issues. The tank has since been taken down as we moved. I gave both of the leopards to a friend with a 300g where they're still at. He hasn't mentioned anything, I wouldn't worry too much

Thanks for getting back to me. Well this makes me feel much better. Thanks you so much for that!

Weird, I just got a new tiny blue star leopard wrasse and she’s being doing the same thing described in this post for the past 2 days. I’m guessing it’s maybe just stress? But so far so good, she’s swimming around the tank and I saw her pig out on some mysis shrimp last night. ❤️ Hopefully she gets use to my tank soon.
