I think I am going to lose my leopard wrasse. Was active and fine last week. This pass weekend he was laying down flat on the sand bed instead of burrowing under. He won't eat and is breathing heavily. All my water parameters are good, I don't see any evidence of disease, and all the rest of the fish an corals all seem fine. I am bummed as he was my favorite. Any thoughts on what may be wrong with him?

Did you add anything recently to your tank? What are your water parameters?

Calcium 419, Ph 8.2, Ammonia 0, Nitrate 15, Alk 8.4, Salinity 1.026, Temp 79. Added 2 corals last Wednesday - a cynarina and a blasto

There is always a possibility you brought a hitchhiker or parasite. Is there any other unusual behavior going on?? flashing, twitching, yawning, scratching, etc.

How long has it been since he last consumed food?

That’s actually not a leopard wrasse but the yellow tail tamarins are definitely a difficult fish. How long have you had it? It’s pretty common for them to have internal parasites. How deep is your sand bed? It looks to have good weight on it but sometimes these just die for no apparent reason.
