Hey everyone.
I am thinking that this Leptoseris is not doing well. This is the shaded side of the coral. I am guessing it is not getting enough light. Should I move it or is it too late?
Thanks.

I also see these string things on the left side of the coral. Don't know if these are poop or missenterial filaments or something else. Sorry still learning.. hope it is just normal...

I would check your flow. Some leptos need a lot of flow and light and others don’t need as much from my experience. aslong as you can see some color and some polys, you haven’t lost it. Just find the happy place in your tank for them and move them up slowly to see how it does.

Thanks for your reply. This lepto has been in this spot for two months. I am just this week seeing the issue. Does it take this long to show they are unhappy? Sorry for the questions I am learning alot but have alot of questions as well.

No it shouldn’t take long for it to be unhappy. It’ll take time. I see that it has based out a lot. Did it grow in your tank or was that bought that way? Don’t worry keep asking questions. It never hurts to ask.

Is everything else in your tank doing okay? Any other recent changes?
Hey blenny time!
Everything looks to be doing well! As far as sps goes I have a Anacropora which has his polyps out and an Acropora which looks ok. I also have some encrusting Montis which have been growing.
Tank is 4 months 1 week.

It unfortunately was bought this way. I see only a little bit of grow out.

Does anyone know what those white stringy things are? Is it missenterial filaments? Or do these have sweeper tentacles? See above video.

Not sure what the filaments are, but they seem to be touching the affected area so I'd try removing them or getting a closer look at the source.

Thanks for your reply Cell! It looks to me that they are coming out of the spots on my leptoseris. I am guessing these are mouths? I do not think they are coming from somewhere else but from the coral itself. I have been wrong before though (just ask my wife!!)

The only worms I can think of are spionid worms, but I don't know if the tentacles get quite that long.

Maybe hungry do you feed it?

This is not leptoseris but leptastrea rather. Leptoseris is one of those corals I never try to feed. I’m sure it would benefit however but not the reason why it’s not looking healthy.

You mean mine is Leptoseris but the picture he showed is not correct?

Leptoseris usually prefer lower lighting and medium flow. I have mine partially shaded and the coloration and growth is pretty good. Where exactly is it in regards to lighting.
