Lesser known pests: The nuisance you didn't know...

Aiptasia and dinos get plenty of headlines, but have you dealt with other pests that don't get talked about nearly as much? What are the lesser known and seldom discussed pests in the saltwater aquarium hobby?

I wish I could get Pulsing Xenia and GSP to bloom in my tanks. Instead they behave and just stay in one certain area.

As for the pests that are lesser known, although I don’t class these as a pest they are hitchhikers. Bryaninops and Paragobiodon species have made it into past tanks of mine, I wish I had photos of them.

Blue clove polyps are bigger trouble than aiptasia in my opinion.

I hate all hydroids: no dips kill them and nothing eats them.

On the topic of coral, many palys also make the list.
When I first got some captain jerk palys attached to a trumpet, I thought it was a steal. Now I have more of them than any other coral. They’re lucky they look nice and I’m too afraid to start fragging…

Also there is one creature guaranteed to cause a problem for all the other fish, corals, and the keeper.
