Never put anything from the ocean into your reef tank. It's heart breaking to watch all your corals melt away from pest and algae plague. I ignored that GOLDEN rule. QUARANTINE. Who knows how much money in corals went bye bye. In a couple of months I will start running a restock of basic simple corals. I'm not a fancy collector. I enjoy simple soft corals. I even like brown corals cause they don't DIE. If anyone has corals that they just want gone remember me. Thank you all.

Buddy has some of my stuff while my house is being repaired. If any of it is growing like mad, I/we may be able to donate some.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I can hook you up with some frags when you're ready. Just give me a shout. By the way, what did you put in there so we can learn?

Im sure your doxie must cheer you up at least a little :)

what I got was a piece of sea grass full of small hermits. From North Myrtle Beach shoreline.
I have fallen off the earth so to say. I've been raising my son , he is meaner than hell. And Eddie never came and got his Jacket. My tank situation sucks cause everything is dying. The softies are still alive but LPS AND SPS are all about gone.

sorry to ask but could you be more specific? You got some grass with hermit crabs in it and what happened why are corals melting? are hermit crabs eating them? is there something else in there?

I've been studying my corals and I can't find any signs of flatworms or I may be too blind to see them. I may pit a mellanarus wrasse in for good measure. What ever it is , it has eaten an entire hammer coral in 2 days.

The grass was some callerpa I found while swimming with the kids at north myrtle Beach. I put it in my refugium and the sickness leached into my display at first the sps went now the LPS has been attached one after the other.
