Let’s see your established refugium

Here’s my sump 2 months in. I don’t want the new H380 Kessil light to take credit for the growth the Chaeto has gotten from the “Golf ball size” from Algae barn.

This was done from a Home Depot light

I like the Mangrove! Yeeeahhh

Right now my fuge is an algae factory. I have dragons breath and a tiny piece of sea lettuce in it. Every week I clean the cyano and hair algae out, but it seems to keep most of it out of dt. It’s a work in progress. Today I will be replacing the sump to a new version of a diy 40b sump when I switch the dt out to a larger one. I made a few mods from lessons learned. My cheats died when I was adding vibrant for bubble algae.
that’s awesome. I want to upgrade my refugium and get some different types of Macro algae.

I don’t think I will add substrate because it will most likely stop the chaeto tumbling

Did you just pour mud in refugium and call it a day?
Yes, I dumped the mud in several weeks after the cycle ended, though I should have introduced it before adding water (the resulting sediment cloud turned my aquarium to a scene straight out of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory... for days).
What is your feeding and maintenance like?
Ideally, I dose 4.5 mL of ChaetoGro daily, 5 mL of bottled phytoplankton 4 times a week, and perform weekly 10% water changes. I also sporadically feed Hikari Tropical Algae Wafers for the system's invertebrates (no fish yet). Note the whole system holds about 50 gallons of water, has no protein skimmer or fine mechanical filtration, and there is a bag of MarinePure Spheres in another chamber of the sump.

My refugium is about 7 yrs old, about 13 gallons and I’ve been debating some type of gentle cleaning, I don’t want to kill pods or other life. In the past, I’ve gone in with the shop vac.

My 30g remote fuge has a corner overflow. It drains into my 120's 40 breeder sump. Both drains drain into a 7" filter sock.
The return has 2 ball valves to control the flow into the 120 and the fuge running off one main return pump.
I dont use a filter sock holder. Its held up with the bungee cord in the pick.

Nice! What are the dimension of your 30? Looks like the 30 was a custom tank?

24x20x18. Used custom tank from a fellow reefer. It was a frag system before I aquired it.
