Let’s talk lighting! Not another Radion thread

I want to have the discussion focusing on led lighting available that is not Radion/Hydra. I know that recently over the last couple years there have been some great option out on the market. I see more tank with some of the lesser know brands. Shinning and looking awesome. I’m curious, what other lights do you (guys and girls) use?

Just to clarify, I do not have an issue with Ecotech. Wonderful lights. Just want to see what others are enjoying

Noospsyche K7 V3...they're great imo! I have them on a nano which is WAY overkill but adjusting every wavelength makes it fine

I run an Orphek Atlantic icon on one tank and it seems to do well. I want a set of Kessil 360x’s for my 40 breeder. I have 2 ai prime 16HD’s on it. Which I like the AI lights the coloration is nice but I don’t think I can the PAR I need out of them without replacing lenses every 6 months.

Oh nice! I have had that light on my list to try out for some time. Do you feel it’s a bit heavy on the blue side? Or can you adjust them? Every tank I have seen with them looks very purple blue

You can adjust every wavelength (6 channels) if you want 0 blue you could have that tbh.

I really like my reefi uno, but I also have a kessil, 2 ai prime and soon to add orphek bar to the mix.

For that price I should really test it out. I keep adding grow out out tubs and if this can do the job. It would be an awesome savings

Lights are a piece of equipment I'd go with a tried and true brand honestly.

I love the SmatFarm G5 from Amazon for $100 or so. Good enough for up to 20 - 25g

For a 65, I think 2 Noospsyche K7 V3 lights (140 watts would be perfect. Not sure if they sell that model still though.

I have a 30 gal in the fish room, I might test it out on. Right now it’s setup for low light low flow with a old kessil a160

True! I’m my experience there are many others proven to be ‘tried and true’ but may not have the marketing or loud enough voice. Hell I solder some of my first leds stripes together myself and they lived until I just removed em. Probably some of the best lights I had. At that time I didn’t like the strip look haha. If you have the knowledge to do that type of stuff, go for it! That's awesome!

Yeah I’m at a cross roads at the moment. Kinda want to try the Kessils because of the kessil logic. As far as I understand it I can run the blue as blue I want and still get full spectrum. Or I might just run a few 36” Orphek strip lights. I bought a used apogee par meter off Amazon this morning. I think it’s super important everyone either rents or buys a par meter. You can watch BRS lighting videos all day and replicate that and still fail. I’m running my 16HD’s currently on their settings for the 40 breeder test they did cranked to 100% so I’d get 100-150 PAR in most of the tank. It about burned my toadstool and it’s got a purple hammer that’s super angry with it. The tentacles are going clear. I backed them down a bit.

Ok, never really heard of it. But I do like the price, and some of those light have really proven themselves over the last couple years.

It’s pretty good, once I got use to it! The guy that makes them seems to constantly improve it. It’s much better than the noopsyche app for comparison. Better than mobius.

I’m using all skys on my tanks. 5 over my 10’ 560 gallon. 4 over my 350 and 2 on my 300. I like them a lot. I had radions and like these way better honestly. Bought every one at a highly discounted price too lol
