Let’s be honest.. it’s almost 2020 and if I can do nearly everything wireless why can’t I seem to manage my wires better!! I’m not going to bring up “ let’s make everything wireless that’s the best” or anything silly like that but rather some advice on wire management. I feel some people are very organized whilst others are not. I’d love to advice and guidance on how to manage wires / what to use other than “ I just use some zip ties and hope for the best”

Here’s my mess... I think it’s quite organized in my stand. But beside it is far from it!!

First off, if you think you have a mess, you should see mine. o_O I've said before that I was going to do something about my wire management. The problem is that all of the solutions I've seen are not centered around easy removal of components. For every cord I have, there is a piece of hardware that needs to be removed periodically for cleaning. I've been worrying about this for quite awhile. Still haven't seen a solution that incorporates an organized cable management system with ease of removal of cords for maintenance. If someone has it figured out, I'd really like to see it.:)

Had the same issue. I built a stand alone rack for all my controls - keeps them away from water.

Looks really nice!

Now let's see whats going on behind that slick looking control panel?....;)

It's a "work in progress", contemplating upgrading the Apex so inside cabinet is in flux at the moment. Once it's finished , be more than happy to post it.

Panduit, Velcro straps, Marine Depot’s mounting board, and the adhesive stick pieces that you can run zip ties through. All of those have been great for me to use. I was really impressed with the mounting boards. They are expensive but they are very light, solid, and make organization very easy.

wire management i think ends up not being a priority in the fun of getting everything up and running, for me thats how it is at least

It’s definitely not fun but the work done in the beginning pays off. You are, typically, making your equipment more safe, and you also don’t have to figure out how to organize it with a tank full of water.

Panduit here, plus split loom where needed and screw down mounts too for utilizing zip ties/twist ties.

I LOVE THIS IDEA. Have you seen any similar cabinets that I could purchase and assemble?

I’m working on my tank now but this is my sump room. I’ve got to buy one more controller board and then I’ll be good to put everything on and have a little room. It really makes a difference when you can look at it and tell it’s safe.
