I have an 8'L30"W25"H 320g custom tank that I just ordered and will be doing a build thread on in about a month when I close on house.. I'm trying to work out details before hand so I can get right to work when I move in. I will be lighting the tank with 7 ocean revive leds down center and (4) 48" miro t5 retrofit kits to give me a light system with 2 t5 on front and back with led center for entire 8' span. I run a similar setup now on my 90 woth amazing results....so im sticking with what works. I want to be able to raise and lower the light as needed for maintenance and reaching in tank, and just want some ideas From people with similar sized setups. Entire rack will weigh a good bit and I'm just looking for some inspiration.

For my 96” tank, I have two light racks. Less weight- easy to lift them for maintenance. If it was 96”, the rack would have to be VERY stiff to prevent bending.

Length with a single rack was something I also considered. If I did one rack I would make it From aluminum to be rigid..but wood I could do 2 4ft and be cheaper to boot.. I like that. Do yours raise and lower? Do you have close ups of your rack?
