I have a red Coris wrasse. It had been missing since Friday at lunch (didn't see him after work) I found him this morning and he was very lethargic, half in the sand with top out. Breathing but I was worried so I caught him which was very easy.

He is now isolated and laying on his side, I had to rush off after I caught him so I wasnt able to test aside from when I have monitoring for.

I will be able to test in about an hour and post more information.

I don't see any sign ich or other disease,.

Any thoughts? Just keep an eye on him?

Nitrates 0-5ppm
Alk 9.3
temp is right around 78
PH is about 8.2

I don't see any obvious sign of disease either, and it's clearly not advanced age as color says this is a young, transitioning fish.

How's his breathing? Rapid and shallow, deep and measured, or . . . ?

Are there other fish in the tank? Are any of them bullying the wrasse, or showing any symptoms?

You could try a freshwater dip to check for flukes...

@HotRocks, @Big G . . . any thoughts for this Coris?

He passed. I didn't see any aggression, his breathing was rapid.

Red coris are very tough to get established. I’ve lost several, and kept several over the years. After the first couple months if they last that long and you treat for internal parasites they seem to do pretty well.

Sorry for the loss :(
