Let's be honest. Who like xenia?

I Love the way xenia pulses and sways in the water I just don't like how it takes over.

But based upon it's pulsing I love it. LOL! I always wanted to do like a nano dominated xenia tank.

My favorite is the type in this video at the 1:07 mark.

I love the pulsing. But I hate the quick spreading. I want it out of my tank and will never have it again.

Oh and if you have an infestation right now you probably will hate it! LOL! I have been there and done that. But I still think it is cool!

I like it but think it has its place....to me having Xenia covering back wall would be awesome......or bottom of bare bottom tank. But in my experiences Xenia is wonderfully in the fuge.....excellent at nitrate reduction.....I will ALWAYS have Xenia of some sort somewhere in my system

This is destined to grow up my back wall....GSP is growing up center overflow along with some birds nest.....once Xenia takes hold on that side I will move rock to other side....once attached rock will be given away...trashed...or put in fuge should I set one up.

But this is similar to live plants in display.....I am shooting to have my fuge built into my reef with slow growing red macro algae and Xenia on back walls

Sadly the Xenia gets more attention from non-reefing visitors than anything in my tank of value higher

I keep 4 types of xenia in my 20 gallon softy/mantis tank. It's one of my favorite corals but no way I'll let xenia in my sps tank. There are times I just sit there and watch it pulse.

Everyone likes it, right up to the point they put it in their tank. :cry:

Turns out that in the laser testing I've been doing, Xenia is the most laser-resistant pest I've found - far harder to eradicate than Aiptasia or Majano. I'll admit I do allow a small patch to exist, safely in the center of a side pane of glass where it can be easily controlled.

I actually love xenia. Sure it can overgrow a tank but the way it pulses it just so amazing. I remember the first time I went to a LFS and they were selling a small frag for like 50 bucks I thought wow this must be a special and rare piece. Mine never really took over the tank when I had softies not sure why but I think it could have been because I wasn't running a heater and they don't seem to like the colder temperatures but I don't really know.

It beats the heck out of Kenya tree. I have no love for Kenya tree.

Great vid...but im so thankful I sold mine to my LFS before they totally took over 49 stalks after I gave most if them away to friends and newbies

if you have a lot on the rocks that you cant get rid of, i think file fish eats them.

I found if your careful and grab it right at the base you can pull it off the rock too. Sometimes it takes a couple trys to get it all.

I hear you man I feel the same way my lfs have I think a 60 gallon cube completely dominated with Xenia beautiful maybe next time I'm their I will take pics and post them
