Whats your photoperiod? I like the color of you tank. i run mh/t5 combo and have 4 ati blue+ but want to add one or two coral + and didnt know if i could run them for 12 hrs like my blue +.... i guess i could run two ballast but not if unnecessary.....

I have 6 bulbs. Here they are from front to back:
• ATI Blue Plus
• ATI Purple Plus
• ATI Blue Plus
• ATI Aqua Blue Special
• Giesseman 420 Actinic
• ATI Blue Plus

Lights are a retrofit set up and mounted under my canopy about 8" above the water.

Thank you...I have 2 bulbs per ballast so I ramp up 2 lights at a time from dawn to dusk:

• 1-10pm - Purple Plus/Giesseman Actinic
• 2-9pm - Blue Plus/Blue Plus
• 3-8pm - Aqua Blue Special/Blue Plus

I've been getting great growth for the past 2 years. I do miss the shimmer that MH's give but plan on adding a powerful 3watt per bulb LED strip down the center of my bulbs in the near future.

MY bulbs are crap and my corals are still happy, Not that I like the bulbs, but heres what the cheapest bulbs ever look like. The 150 has deep blue stock lights from my fixture before it pood away, and the 10g is an odessea. I do have a couple nice ones, so here it goes. 150g: f to b (GLO) Life glo & power glow both white. Deep Blue stock white. Deep BLue stock actinic. Coralife 420 actinic. My 10g is straight out of the box odes sea, blue in front, white in back...I cannot wait to buy new colored lights, I just have more important things right now since the corals are happy. (ok, this may result in deleting this post off of the internet for breaking the law) I have a 75 daylight bulb that grows the mangroves in the sump, but the light shines through the back of the DT and feeds my gracilaria tang heaven that my baby tangs reside in.

and that acro was a test frag...I am aware it is melting and have since taken action to preserve it, or at the least, its other corals. The frag I cut is growing like crazy, so Its probably the lighting change, an acro lost is....experience learned I guess lol.

I'm not thrilled with the colors though.
Looking for a new combo. Any recommendations I'd Luke to get rid of the atinic and the GE. Maybe even replace the AB's with coral+.

well, dont have it fired up yet. but it seems like ATI is the clear preference for T5 bulbs. And the Blue+, Coral+ combo is rocking.

But, who uses the Giesemann bulbs?? and whats the best combo?(assuming the above B+,C+ combo to be one of the top)
