Looking to start a 120 (4x2x2) and just looking to some ideas and inspiration. like hanging lights (doing a giesemann halide fixture) and sump ideas. I had one about 10 years ago but did a through wall sump and that isn't an option this time so will have to be below stand.

I currently have a 60g cube which will be replaced by the 120,

Thanks in advance

You can check out my build thread. I tore it down to start a 300 gal build but it was 120. Loved that tank.
Liked the stand. And the fish room wish my wife supported me that much haha.
On the stand, was it just an angle iron top n bottom with just plywood vertical supports? Did that work well?

Check out my build. It is way over due for an update!

Yep plus the bracing around the front which was a 1x4. I know it seems like not enough but it stayed up in 5.7 earthquake. I’ve built multiple stands this way. The plywood can handle the vertical load it’s the sway you need to sure up with gussets and horizontal bracing. Although I’m doing the same thing for a 300 gal build right now and I’m adding in more vertical support for this one since it’ll be quite a bit heavier...

Awesome, gives me a different approach to think about. Thanks
