I have a lot of scratches I’d like to soften up with some polishing before getting the water in. I’ll actually be starting a thread soon. Finances and health cause me to move real slow though.

Are you going to use cerium oxide and an orbital buffer? I tried that once; buffed for hours and still only completely removed the very lightest scratches. They say that if you can feel the scratch at all with your thumbnail, cerium won't remove it, and in my experience they're right.

I have a few types of rouge. The cerium red and a very fine particle diamond white as well as a green for bringing a mirror finish to stainless. I plan to test them on inconspicuous areas to make sure they don’t leave a cloudy finish. My only real goal is to dull the sharp edges on the scratches so they don’t stand out as much when underwater. I know to completely remove a scratch you have to actually remove a lot of glass and that’ll have its own issues.

I had a busy day with chainsaw and firewood.

My fts is not a contest winner. It is more a snap shot of Serenity from the Lazy Boy listening to Enna, In Memory of Trees.

I'm guessing in Texas you don't go through a ton of wood, but I really hate heating my house with wood. I thought it would be fun a couple of years when I bought a house without a furnace (electric heaters are in every room). Stacking it enough of a pain, never mind bringing it in every couple of days and loading the stove every 8hrs from November-April. I can't imagine having to saw it up then split it too.

I wish they would not layer her voice as much as they do but it is a good album. I like her earlier stuff a bit better but good choice never the less.

Less than a cord a year. I enjoy the fire. For heat I use a 20 SEER 2 Ton Mitsubishi ductless heat pump. This past weekend I had an open house for Community. One guest asked to lower heat from fireplace. I opened window and front door. Here in Texas, I don’t cut much wood and none that needs spliting. In Louisiana I cut much wood and big hardwood trees. We cut together because it’s a big job to fill a 16’ trailer. Somebody in the group had a hydraulic splitter. Somebody in the group was camp cook and would stir up a sauce picaunte while the rest of us did firewood. When tree was cleared and loaded, we enjoyed sauce picaunte and Miller Time.

PS: I had to laugh when you mentioned bringing wood in. Here in Texas, scorpions are active all year. In the trees here, **** roaches as big as small cucumbers dive bomb regularly. All of that stuff comes in with the wood. It definitely is survival of the fittest between scorpion & roachs. The Scorpions won. Everything here in Texas bites & stings. Early last Spring, while drinking early morning coffee on front steps, I continually heard buzzing in my ear. In between my feet was a dead Tarantula with a very big wasp dragging him with air power and wings a buzzing. Only in Austin.

Sorry, but this may be a dumb question. What are the big plate looking corals in some of your tanks? I think they're beautiful and I would like to put one in mine ASAP.
