Let's See Your Quarantine Setup

Here is my observation 20 gal hex shortly after I set it up before adding fish (still cloudy) . I took out the 2 large rocks and large tower decoration to better suit current fish

Just placed an order for the aquaclear 50 HOB. I do 50 gallon water changes once a month in my DT so was plan on using that for the 40 breeder. Not planning on leaving the quarantine tank setup. Only going to use it as a hospital or quarantine setup when needed.

My mixing station

I want to setup a water changing station similar to this soon. What kind of hose is that coiled up? I was looking at the braided nylon, but it is so stiff and unmanageable!

I have a 29 gallon QT. I have a couple of old fashioned HOB filters on it filled with simulated ceramic pellets, a heater, some elbows, a thermometer and an ammonia badge. That is it. With QT, I like the KISS approach.

Hey chefjpaul, What did you lose all your fish to and how fast did it happen? This is exactly why I plan to quarantine everything from now on.

@chefjpaul I lost all but 4 fish to velvet and yeah, it's fast. 9 out of 13 in less than a week. I'm doing observation qt for fish. Tried coral qt but was losing them so put them in tank. Tried to QT 2 mandarins and lost them. Got 2 more and they had to go right into the display. I think there are some fish that just don't do well in qt. I'm working toward higher quality foods, some live foods, to build immunity. And going a bit slower in my restocking. Have a goby and 2 clowns in my qt tank now. All eating and acting good. Not sure if I'll treat or not or just observe for another couple weeks. And love your organized closet!!

20 gallon fish QT and a 10 gallon coral and invert QT:

Thinking about putting the 10 gallon in my room to avoid aerosol transmission.

The male didn't make it unfortunately.

Has anyone here successfully quarantined mandarins? Just curious as I know they require a well established tank.

I'm going to quarantine a yellow watchman goby as one of my first fish just because they love to sift the sand and keep it clean. I plan on just adding a bowl of sand from my display tank for him.

I think if you can find mandarins that have been bred and trained to other foods then they might. Wild caught, which I bet is what most lfs have, seem to be difficult

Just have mine up and running. I will post pics in the morning. Too tired right now from battling the leaking bulkhead for three hours...

Alright here it is

I am limited on space so not sure what I can setup for a QT.

Not used one in the past and would rather use one going forward. What is the smallets most basic setup?
