Let's talk about dehumidifiers and your experience!

Ok got the heaters added to my new tank and about 400g of water and a week later and the wall is crying! LOL!

It was just one wall that boarders the outside wall and was in two places but I need to go ahead and getting something in the works. I talked about it in my thread some but I think it would be best for the community to talk about it here.

So I know there are a lot of options for fixed installed and mobile units. I am looking for a more commercial type unit that I can set up to drain into the sink drain but is also mobile.

What are you guys using?

If this is one of the walls in the back area of the tank, my suggestion would be to add insulation to that wall. By adding a dehumidifier, you'll cause for more evaporation from your tank at that cost of electricity to run the dehumidifier. So I believe the cost wise cure is to insulate. You won't have this problem during warmer months.

I had a similar problem during the coldest winters in the coldest room in my house....second floor bedroom. The walls (old school plaster) would actual sweat with water. The first time this happened, my wife and I toweled down the walls to remove all that water. I did put a dehumidifier in that room directly in front of the radiator that not only helped in removing the moisture, but the fan action on the radiator added a bit more heat to the room. Since this room was far from the fish room on the first floor, I never noticed increased evaporation. Even though we are in the teens temperature wise right now, I haven't turned on the dehumidifier yet this year.
