Sure it's an oldie but goldie, but for all of you who have this acro where do you place it? Lighting, flow? This is a super cool piece!

My tank is 30" tall and I have it probably about halfway down. I have LEDs and it's to the left of direct light. I get good color but my growth has been poor due to the conditions I started the tank with. I also get very thin growth as opposed to the red planet it is near.

Just got a tiny frag a coupla weeks ago. Wasn't sure about it since it was a uniform dark maroon color but I've put it about half-way down under LED's and it's turning green in the appropriate places now. Both the green and maroon are a very sexy dark shade that I love that actually do remind me of autumn colors, but most pics I've seen shows them considerably brighter than mine, so I assume that's where it's headed. No significant growth yet. I'm not sorry I devoted space to it.

27" tall tank about half way down directly under a 250 radium with strong alternating flow....growth has been very good, but the coloration isn't as good as I expected so far....it took awhile to settle in and encrust then it just took off..

Is that really ATL Shades of Fall? Looks really diff from what I'm used to seeing.

I got my atl shades of fall when my tank wasn't really mature yet so the frag browned out and never grew. Once I stabilized my parameters, it started coloring and growing more.

yea it's from BC...it isn't growing upwards with tight coralites like a normal Nasuta because it's gets blasted by alternating flow so it growing more horizontal than vertical....which turns out to be good because there is a Tyree Rouge Milli right behind...

Mike,

I have to confess I think you may be mistaken on that one. Perhaps you mixed them up after the bags were open?

I don't recall exactly when you placed your order but by the size of the colony it was a while ago. That acro actually looks like a piece I got from Reefer Madness long ago that is long gone. It was probably a freebie in fact as I was never able to get great color out of it and gave it away often. Maybe I wasnt even labeling the bags back then:sorry: (Edit)sorry just realized that you got the frag in 2012. Definitely a mix up either way. Really good growth though

over four old pic under 10k looking pretty drab. There was a short window where this thing looked amazing but it came and went and I never pulled that color out again. I think thats the one you have.

If you haven't got anything that looks like that in your tank then contact me and i'll get you another:)

For what it's worth, the shade has always been in my top five acros! Love this thing.

Adam, nice pictures! Wish my SOF showed that much green. How intense of lighting do you have them under?

That pic is over three years old and two displays ago:) At the time the pic was taken they had been under radium 250s i think. May have been 400's i switched around that time.
