Okay, so I have a new setup and I of course wanted a clown for my anemone which is a red BTA, however my Maroon Clown has no interest...

Is this a Maroon Clown thing or is it something else..?

it can take some time before a clown will go near a nem. if the clown is tank bred it may never go to a nem.
