Are you planning on putting them in a refugium or a display tank? I think you'll find that some of them will grow faster than you care to keep up with when it comes to trimming. If you plan on putting them in a fuge, you also have to worry about pieces making their way into the DT and seeding themselves.

Have had fuges with multiple Caulerpa Types and Cheato in all my tanks and never had it go sexual or find it's way to the tank.

I keep Dragon's Breath, Blue Ochtodes, cheato, fire fern all in my prop tank and my mantis shrimp tank. They look nicer than some corals IMO. Good for the health of the tank too.

I have flame algae, red gracilaria and red bone grass in my seahorse tank. The red algae is typically less light demanding than the green.

Ive been running Caulerpa in my refugium for about the past year or so. Works really well at keeping the phosphates down only problem is it grows out of control. If you are going to use caulerpa id suggest culling it every few months so it doesnt completley fill up you refugium. In my expirience it appears to stop pulling phosphates when it can't grow much more. I recently added a few chaeto balls to get a little variation in the types of algae i keep.
