Most of which is covered via water changes but what if your tank is stocked heavy with coral? Will those trace elements be enough to hold over till the next water change? My Cal and Alk are dosed at 80ml per day, whose to say trace and Stron is not consumed in 24-48 hours? Who knows as we have no way of testing trace. I just ordered a Strontium test kit and I'm going to start there.

Reason I ask is because I was considering trying the KZ trace and Strontium. My buddy doses his tank with those two along with a few other products and his corals show amazing growth and colors which I know has a lot of other factors that play into it but still can it hurt?

For those of you that do dose can you explain your experience and why you decided to dose?

I dose the minor elements with Brightwell products. I don't have a schedule, I just ballpark it. Corals growing and fish doing great!

I only dose what I test for, each tank is so different in the way they use elements. I used to test and dose some of the minors: Sr, K, I2, it was too much work for me. The only real difference I saw was with the potassium. I have some red acans with pink centers and really made those pop. When I switched to hw reefer salt from brs I found was only making very minor adjustments. Dosing in relationship to the ca you use doesn't work for all the elements, depending on what elements your tank really uses. I don't test or dose the minors anymore and I'm happy with growth and color, I didn't see enough overall to continue.
