Not only do I enjoy my reef and all the great creatures and coral that is contained within but another thing I really enjoy is talking husbantry with fellow reefers. I like to hear there methods/husbantry practices that makes their reefs successful. Size of tanks, how often you do water changes, types of additives you use and how and how often, do you run carbon, gfo, calcium reactors. you get the idea. Tell us all your secrets!

I guess I'll start:
Tank 60 cube (about 55 gallons TWV)
I run a sock filter that is changed 1-2 times a week.
Clean my skimmer 1 time a week
Water change every 2 weeks (+/- 15%) Redsea regular salt.
I run a reactor with rowaphos in it and change accordingly. Also run a bag of carbon that I don't change out enough, lol
My lights are on a 11 hr cycle:
Reef bright XHO runs all day, 2T5 come on from 2-6pm and again back on at 10-11pm. 2 more T5 come on from 4-6 pm. 250w MH runs from 6-10pm. ( I've had good growth with this schedule and have been running it for awhile now.
I dose all redsea. Alk,cal 2 times a day (only using about .5 DKH and 5ppm of Cal a day) I dose colors A,B,C,D on Fridays (about 3-4 ppm a week)
I dose Reef Energy A & B every 2 days.

I stir parts of my sand bed a couple times a month.

So far this has been working well for my system, could have better PE on some of my acro's but for the most part everything is doing well. I'm battling alittle PO4 but who isn't. Lol

Would like to hear how everyone else does things and any tips we could all benefit from.

75gl RR tank, 30gal sump. Refugium with chaeto that needs "pruned" once a month. Just started dosing 2-part which I am REALLY loving because I'm finally getting consistent numbers. I also run GFO and carbon. Right now I'm changing both out about every three weeks because I think I had some lingering phosphates in my rocks. Someday I'll probably graduate to a reactor, but not quite there yet. :)

I also have a skimmer that needs cleaned weekly and I run a filter sock (just switched to mesh and I love them), which also needs changed weekly.

Total gallons for me is around 115,
Run mesh socks, change em out ruffly every 5 days. Also run 100ml of rox carbon changed out every 15 days, also clean my skimmer cup about once a week(the neck with a creditcard sometimes inbetween). Also do a 20gallon waterchange every sunday, will do some type a 5 min maintenance that consist of - vaccum sand, clean detritus from sump/overflow. Every other week i clean my light fixture spashguard, also top off my dosing containers, baste the rocks when i see detritus accumulate. Clean the glass both in and out once a week. Test twice a week for all the parameters then to top it all off, sit back and relax to enjoy the show lol!

60G Cube w/ DSB
15G sump ( no rock, sand etc. inside.
200 Micron nylon filter sock( changed out weekly)
buble magnus curve5 skimmer (cleaned once per week or bi weekly, based on feeding habbits)
bag of carbon (rated for 75gallons, replaced every two weeks)
10% WC every 2-3 weeks
JBJ ATO
B-Ionic 2 part 10-12ml each daily

minimal maint :) nice and easy

Sabellafella, cleaning my light guard is something that I always forget to do! Thanks for reminding me brotha!
Yanno, i always had a habit of not cleaning it nor even realizing that it needed to be cleaned untill i got a par meter. My last shield also got so filtly with saltcreep/dust inside and out that it was ruined + started to ruin my reflectors. The loss in par was very minimal, not really somthing to be worryd about but still lol

120g display/150g +/- with sump. The system wears a sock that gets changed about every 4-5 days. Skimmer emptied and cleaned weekly. Used to do weekly water changes but have switched to monthly. I've always run carbon and GFO (Phosguard). Fuge with chaeto that needs trimming about every 2-3 weeks. I use the Red Sea Reef Program via dosing pumps. Pumps are removed and cleaned every 6 months or so.

I've found one of the most important things, at least in my opinion, is to keep my hands out of the tank and let nature do its thing.

I have a 20 gallon with live rock and sand. No filter. No skimmer. No GFO. No Dosing. Weekly 5 gallon water change.

I also have a 30 gallon jbj rimless with filter floss, skimmer, and chemi-pure elite. Just started bi-weekly water changes. Not exactly sure yet how this tank will be maintained. But the skimmer has been on the tank about 1 month without any detritus build-up. Not sure when I'll clean it yet lol
