Okay the whole idea of using Vitamin C for healthy growing Zoas seems to keep coming up like UFO sightings.

Fact or fiction?

Is the VitC just acting as a carbon source to fuel good bacteria that indirectly benefits zoas?

Or

Is there something behind Absorbic Acid that directly benefits zoas? Like directly aiding in their zooxanthellae production? And if so, how?

This brings back memories. If I remember correctly, it is used as a carbon source for bacteria. I actually have not used Vit C for a few years now or vodka dosing. My zoas are doing just fine now as they did before.

I am so new to the hobby and all I currently test with is an API test kit. I finally invested in a RODI unit and have noticed more stable parameters that keep algae at bay! I don’t even have a test for magnesium which is pretty dang important lol so I can’t justify dosing vitamin c when I can’t test for it or really judge how it’s affecting my tank besides just visually.
