Hello all.. my nudibranch keeps going towards my power head. I keep moving it and it goes back. I bought it to get rid of bryopsis. When i put it jest the bryopsis it doesn't do anything. But it went into the power head while i wasn't looking and a piece of it was shredded off. It's still alive, but its persistent on wanting to die. Any suggestions about the bryopsis or it trying to die? Thanks in advance.

send pic, many types of lettuce, you NEED to have screened power-heads with lettuce, they will chill higher up in the tank to collect light,I believe they go near power-heads as it seems like the best spot to them. They are not nudis and the common ones have no poisons that will nuke the tank.

I tagged a picture. If a piece of the lettuce nudi got ripped off will it survive? It seems to be okay. It's still moving around. However, there was a bunch of spiderweb looking stuff around the tank after it happened. I scooped most of it out. Should i be concerned about that?

need picks in white both from sides and one from above and a pick of the foot to say how bad it is exactly. They can regenerate if the damage was not super bad

Lettuce nudi have diffe type of species with diff type of diet, most common one seems to eat bryopsis though and i dont think you can train them to stay away from wavemaker

This isn't mine i had to use an example from online because my nudi is in a weird spot. Idk what the foot is on a nudi but half of the flowery looking part is gone. Not half its body just half of that textured part.

many lettuces yes, they like light as they get some of their energy from it. I need more picks in white to see the exact species

It's darker in person. I used my flash to get the white lights like you asked. From what i can tell it's Cerata was damaged. But it's foot seems to be intact.

in that case its got a fair chance. they need live algae, since they drink its "sap"

plastic netting can be fasioned around the powerhead to try and stop this.
Side note I am also looking for lettuce nudibranchs right now and I live on long island. Did you get yours from a LFS close by? I need some bryopsis gone as well

Yeah i bought it to take care of bryopsis but every time i put it near the bryopsis it goes elsewhere. Also, is it safe to physically touch them?

I got it from Caribbean blue. They said they think that's the only one they had, but maybe they were wrong. Doesnt hurt to ask. Are you in the long island reef groups?

no but i def shud be, thank you i will reach out to them tmrw

Elysia clarki don’t seem to eat much of anything as adults. However when they gave babies they immediately annihilate the algae.

yours looks to be a crispata and in my experience they are pigs. On that note I would love more bryopsis I can’t keep mine growing fast enough. Lmk if you ever feel like shipping some to Florida.
