BUT if you have a tiny/small tank able to sit on single piece vote change to yes
You'd be much better ripping down 1x6 lumber and making strong level (all direction level) surface to then sit display stand, then tank on top sure to be stable and level. For our 180g we also used 4x4 posts cut crossgrain for added support and those went in corners and where down support posts in stand came down. We were also thinking ahead when laying 2 supports across bottom of stand so over time no bowing within stand itself, even though sides had support.
If the stand top is nearly level I think those would help a tiny bit, but they are not going to fix an inch across four feet if your tank stand/ floor is really far off.
